GRAVEL CLUB Gavel Club is a youth branch of The Toastmaster Club International serving the students who are under 18. The Hong Kong Secondary School Gavel Club will provide a consistent training program to train the members. All the members are going to take part in the assigned training program run by the Gavel club and The Hong Kong Toastmasters Club.
The program includes a series of projects designed to improve students' English public speaking skills. Members are going to have regular meetings and training programs twice a month. During the meetings, each student will take turn to be the toastmaster--the host of the meeting, to give prepared English speeches, to give impromptu speeches, and to give constructive evaluation to their fellows. Everyone is going to speak and present in front of all of the members.
After completing all the projects, members can get a Competent Toastmaster Award. Public speech experts and the speech contest champions from Toastmaster Clubs will give training courses regularly. Moreover, there are in-house speech competitions and joint-club speech competitions set for the members so that they can make good use of what they have learnt. Therefore, at our Gavel Club, members benefit from the on going basis programs by speaking to others and working with others in a supportive environment. |
