HKMUNC

Hong Kong Model United Nations Club (HKMUNC) is a young organization under the Hong Kong Youth and Tertiary Students Association (HKYTSA). Established in 2004, HKMUNC focused on training and participating in overseas Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences, which brought fruitful results.

Past events encompass training workshops, lectures by diplomats, visits to Consulates and participation in MUN Conferences in the Mainland – Beijing, Xian and round the world, like NMUN in New York. We also sent a team of delegates to Beijing MUN 2006.

Organizing Committees of the HKMUN Club are strictly selected. Many of us have valuable experience in participating in MUN events locally and throughout the region in other countries, such as the United States and People’s Republic of China.

Recently, our External Vice Chairperson participated in the Harvard National Model United Nations Conference in February. This year, our motto is to “Embrace the World”. We are keen on widening the perspectives among secondary and tertiary level students in Hong Kong. The topics for MUN Conference last year were “Environmental Sustainability” and “Nuclear Disarmament”, both being current hot issues. The Conference aims at bringing students from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan Macao and Singapore together and contributing to a peaceful and beautiful world. Although HKMUNC has a short history, it is comprised of energetic and enthusiastic future leaders. We are elite members with an ambition to arouse Hong Kong teenagers’ interest in International affairs and develop their global perspectives
