WELFARE FOR MEMBERS

Every candidate is strictly selected. Various training, activities and welfare will be provided for all members.

1. Member card

With a membership card, you are identified as one of the members of HKMUN and enjoy all the welfare with it.

2. HKMUN memo paper

Memo paper with HKMUN logo is only for HKMUN members

3. HKYTSA pin

With the logo of HKYTSA which is the host of HKMUN, this pin represents that you are a member of one of the biggest charitable organizations for Hong Kong youth.

4. Certificate of MUN members

Each MUNC member will receive a certificate which proves the effort they have made at the end of the year. Honorable certificate will be given to the outstanding members to recognize their substantive contribution.

5. Representing HKMUN and Hong Kong to participate in overseas MUN conferences

Members can join various local as well as overseas MUN conferences on behalf of HKMUN or even Hong Kong

• Harvard National MUN

Founded in 1955, only a decade after the United Nations, Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) is the largest, oldest, and most prestigious conference of its kind. Staffed entirely by Harvard College undergraduates, HNMUN brings over 2,500 students and faculty together from colleges and universities around the world to simulate the activities of the United Nations. HNMUN offers a unique opportunity to experience the challenges of international negotiation and diplomacy.

6. Enjoying the privilege to join all the activities organized by HKMUN

Places of all activities organized by HKMUN interviews will be reserved for HKMUNC members. Activities include

• visits to consulates
• visit to legislative council
• interview NGOs
• training workshops
• lectures

This can ensure that you are given the chances to gain these valuable experiences.

7. Visit to consulates

Visits to consulates of China and Japan are the tentative activities for our members.
Participants can

• Learn the work of consulate and diplomacy
• Have a deeper understanding of another cultural via enjoying traditional foods and performances.

8. Visit to legislative council

Honorable guests will be invited to join this activity.
Participants can

• Have better understanding of political history, culture and development of Hong Kong
• Discuss and exchange ideas with our honorable guest and outstanding participants.

9. Interview with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

NGOs are the organizations which are independent from the government. They aim to create a more peaceful, equitable and sustainable world for this and future generations.
Interviewing the guests who are working in NGOs is an invaluable chance to

• Understand different important issues in various domains e.g. ethical, environmental, political and economical
• Discuss and exchange ideas with our honorable guests and outstanding participants.

10. Seminars/ talks of global hot issue

To arouse the awareness on current global issues of our members, seminars will be held in the year. Professors and experts will be invited to share their knowledge and understanding on the topics. Participants can

• Have further understanding of the global issues
• Gain an invaluable opportunity to discuss and exchange opinions with the experts

11. Training for MUN chairperson

HKMUN members may have an opportunity to be the chairperson in the Hong Kong Model United Nation Conference (HKMUNC). Intensive training courses will be provided to candidates. A series of training includes

• Seminars in Ministry of Foreign Affairs
• Workshops about the introduction and rules of HKMUNC held by experienced HKMUNC chairpersons

12. Regular newsletter

Regular newsletter will be sent to all HKMUN members and our honorary advisors. Members of adversary board includes

• commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in HKSAR
• presidents of United Nation Association of China
• presidents and directors

The latest news and activity of HKMUNC will be announced in it.

13. Member Column in the newsletter of HKMUN

t provides a platform for discussion on the global issues. Members can publish their opinion and suggestions on the member column. Your messages will be sent to all members and our honorary advisors and hence you can exchange your ideas with those excellent participants.
